Brass & Oak is a traditional barbershop run by master barber Maren Hollis. Walnut panelling, brushed brass, a cognac leather chair — and forty-five unhurried minutes that are entirely yours.

About the shop
Old craft. One chair. No rush.
Maren apprenticed under a third-generation barber in Dartmouth before spending a decade in busy downtown shops. In 2019 she opened Brass & Oak with a single idea: bring back the quiet, careful barbering she learned — scissor-over-comb, a tapered neck, a razor-clean finish — and give it a room worth sitting in.
The panelling is reclaimed walnut from a Lunenburg boathouse. The fixtures are brushed brass, polished by hand on Mondays. The chair is a restored 1950s Koken, re-covered in cognac leather. Nothing in the room is there to impress you; it's there because it lasts.

Old-school in the right ways: sharp scissors, a clean neck, and no small talk unless you want it. The room smells of cedar and good coffee.
